“Overall, the (seminar) has been an incredible resource for professional support and a rare opportunity to learn and grow while preserving a good sense of honesty and vulnerability. Being part of this community has helped me identify the gaps I have found when working with communities in the corporate world. It has also led me to look with a different perspective at the challenges I have faced and find creative solutions that I can try and discuss live with fellow professionals. ”
— KATHERINE MORILLO, PROGRAM MANAGER, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
“I took this course as a goal for work, to take on something out of my comfort zone. This course gave me tools to use to open up a new path in life. I felt welcome during all the meetings, and appreciated the course had a cadence and gave us time to get to know each other better. The new skills I learned/awakened within myself will forever be ingrained in my mind. I am constantly looking for ways to create new and meaningful memories and connections. I am more open to reaching out to others and sharing the skills I learned. I do hope to work again with Charles, Gracie, and Julia in the future. Thank you all! I really enjoyed working with you and I will miss "seeing" you each week.”
— ANGELA FRATI, Executive Assistant to the Dean, UCONN LIBRARY
“US Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murthy, has just released a new Advisory on the Epidemic of Loneliness - and the vital role of connection. Charles Vogl's pivotal work guides the way forward with powerful insights, practical tools - and critically - clarity on the why's and how-to's of connection that enable us to move forward with confidence.”
— TASNIM BENHALIM, FOUNDER & CHIEF LEARNING OFFICER, DIVERSITY WEALTH

The Principles of Community Building
Building on the work shared in Charles Vogl’s books, this online seminar will give you the opportunity to learn deeper nuance, participate in small group conversations, practice fundamental community-building skills, and grow brave to deepen your relationships with others.
Community Building
Understand that community in its true sense is always built on the context of generosity. It is never sourced for manipulation or extration. Community relationships form between people who care about one another’s welfare.
Invitations
Here, an invitation is a request to spend time together where someone knows someone else cares if they join. It requires an effort to reach out and connect, beyond an email, SMS, Slack or WhatsApp message.
Campfire Principles
We will recognize the kind of experiences that knit people together to form connections and caring. Intimacy creates the kind of connections that bind but are not restrictive, and so allows for growth. We’ll go over the foundations that must be laid down in order to make these intimate experiences succeed.
3AM Friends
Real success in community building is forming 3AM friends whom we know we can call when we have a 3AM emergency. They are also the people who better call us when they have a midnight emergency. You will recognize the authenticity of the relationship when such a level of trust develops.
