GIFT: Guidelines for Military Family Community Events

GIFT RESOURCE:

Guidelines for Military Family Community Events

For years I've been in contact with both active duty and veteran service members who shared the well documented challenges of isolation, disconnection and lack of friend support within military experiences.

This breaks my heart because I know so many families commit so much to do things that our country asks.

Many of my family members have served.

You can now download a free simple tool to help anyone gathering military families for connection, friendship and support. The hope is the free resource will make those precious gatherings easy, simple and powerful.

Corie Weathers shared with me that over her years as a military spouse, she recognizes that information is shared more online than in gatherings. This has led to less casual events for friendship building. She noticed that formal like balls were the few places families could meet. But, real friendships grow in the casual, easy and quiet meetups. So, she helped me craft a resource to bring more of the casual and friendship building events back.
